Aegina is the 2nd largest island of the islands of the Argosaronic Gulf.
The island, thanks to its rich history of 5,500 years, has many historical monuments and was the first capital of Greece after the revolution of 1821.
It is a place of residence of great people of art and culture, such as Odysseas Elytis, Nikos Kazantzakis and Yannis Moralis.
Aegina, thanks to its close proximity to Athens, is the attraction of visitors throughout the year even for one-day excursions.
But it is worth visiting the island for more days as the beautiful beaches, the sights and the various activities you can do on the island will pleasantly fill your stay.
